Last night we were invited to the American Apparel warehouse sale on the CNE grounds. We passed through the Prince’s gates which we love, at sunset.

(A history lesson for you. The Prince’s gates mark the entrance of the CNE. They are often mistakenly called the Princess gates, but they are not, they were named for the Prince’s who officially opened the gates, princes EdwardPrince of Wales (later Edward VIII), and George (later The Duke of Kent), on August 31, 1927. )

The Launch Party for Hate and Heartbreak.

Last Monday was the Launch Party for Hate and Heartbreak. The party was at Grindhouse on King St. West.

I wore my purple glitter heels. I bought them because you’re not allowed to go to Priscilla Queen of the Desert without some form of glitter. I’ve heard.

I also wore Victory Rolls. It seemed appropriate. I was feeling victorious.

The turnout was amazing. So many friends and family and new faces.

I was very busy.

I set up this table. You have to imagine it with the roses my Aunt brought me in the black rose vase. They were perfect.

My friend Kate from Cityline came. Kate is so much fun. We met in New Orleans when my sister and I were special guests at Dita Von Teese’s Be Cointreauversial show at Taste of the Cocktail.

Apparently I talk with my hands a lot.

Social Media Mavens Casie and Keri in matching sailor dresses. Cutest Party Guests ever.

One sassy lass.

Carri debuted her first ever art show at the launch.  ”Robot Birds by Carri”. It was a hit.

I wish I had more pictures of her art.  Now these two I have lots of pictures of but they are NSFW. The Burlesque Performers Raymi the minx & Paddy Jane were the talk of the town.

These little tigresses danced to The Black Keys and Florence and the Machine, and finished with an 80′s inspired performance to “I ran” by Flock of Seagulls. I doubt it has ever been done before.

The rest of the night was a blur. It went by in a flash. People kept coming up to me and saying they were sorry they were late. I said “It’s ok so was I.” Which I was. Fashionably. I thought I would have more time to chat with people but there were important party-hosting things to do the whole night. Important party questions to answer. Like the burlesque dancers asking me if it’s bad if their nipples show. I said yes and then they asked if they could cover them in lipstick. We found some tape. Follow us on Twitter if you are now picturing lipstick covered nipples. At one point I looked around the packed room and I thought who are these people? What am I doing? Are everyone’s nipples covered? They were. I couldn’t have been happier. I kept saying “I love everybody”. There was a lot of love in the room.

Clap if you believe in fairlies

One funny thing about hosting a party: you get to start the clapping. And I did. A lot.

Thank you to all of Hate and Heartbreak’s friends and everyone who came out and made the Launch Party for Hate and Heartbreak a complete success.
